1. Double-click the My Computer icon on your Windows desktop.
2. Double-click the Control Panel folder.
3. Double-click the Network icon.
4. Click on the Configuration tab.
5. In the Network Components list, select TCP/IP for your Ethernet adapter and click on the Properties button.

6. Click on the IP Address tab.
7. Select the radio button labeled Obtain an IP
address automatically. If your computer is using
Windows Me, uncheck the box labeled Detect connection
to network media.

8. Click on the Gateway tab. All of the fields should be blank. Delete
settings from non-blank fields if necessary.

9. Click on the DNS Configuration tab.
10. Select the Disable DNS radio button. All of the other fields should be blank.

11. Click the OK button to close the TCP/IP Properties window.
12. Click OK again to close the Network window.
13. If you are prompted to restart your computer, click the Yes button.
