Troubleshooting Mac OS 8 and 9
Refreshing TCP/IP settings in Mac OS 8 and 9:
Simply restarting your computer will refresh your TCP/IP settings. But if you prefer a quicker (but not as simple) method, follow this procedure:
- Click on the Apple menu, click Control Panels, and click TCP/IP .

The TCP/IP Window
- Click the Configure pull-down menu, and select
Using BootP Server. From the File menu,
choose Quit. Click the Save button.
- Reopen the TCP/IP window. Click the Configure
pull-down menu, and select Using DHCP Server.
From the File menu, choose Quit. Click
the Save button.
- Close the Control Panel.
Having refreshed your TCP/IP settings, you can now return to Configuring the HomePortal to Access the Internet.
