Refreshing TCP/IP settings in Mac OS 8 and 9:
Simply restarting your computer will refresh your TCP/IP settings. But if you prefer a quicker (but not as simple) method, follow this procedure:
Click on the Apple menu, click Control Panels, and click TCP/IP.
The TCP/IP Window

From the Configure pull-down menu, select Using BootP Server. From the Filemenu, choose Quit. Click the Save button.
Reopen the TCP/IP window. From the Configure pull-down menu, select Using DHCP Server. From the Filemenu, choose Quit. Click the Save button.
Close the Control Panel.
