Giving Your Computer A Name

To name your computer:

1. Click on the Apple menu, point to Control Panels, then click File Sharing.

2. In the File Sharing control panel, type your name in the Owner Name field and type an Owner Password. Next, type a name in the Computer Name field. Each computer on your home network must have a uni que name.

3. Click the Start button in the File Sharing section.

Note: When file sharing has finished starting up, the File Sharing section will say File Sharing On.

Would you like to share files that are on this computer or a printer that is connected to this computer?

• If yes, please continue with Creating User Accounts.

• If no, please continue with your next computer by returning to File Sharing between Macintosh Computers.

• If you have no other computers to configure, please continue with Accessing Shared Files.
